Thanks to a quick Google search, I uncovered that blogs increased in popularity in 2009…so, um, ya, I’m a little late. However, I am excited to be present in this (new to me) world. And as with anything new, there is a learning curve. So, being that this is my first ever blog post, beware!
I have great plans for Studio 217 this coming year and I couldn’t be more excited!!! Maybe a little less terrified, but still very excited….so, that evens out, right? (Insert a “right” that only I can hear, but pretend it is all of you screaming your support at me”)
Ok, so if you can’t already tell and if you have never met me in person, I like to talk. A lot. And I tend to write as if I would be speaking, but I’m sure you have figured that out already! Oh, btw, if you haven’t met me, why the heck not?!?!? Stop the madness and let me into your world…guarantee you will not regret it.
Alright, alright…back to the GREAT plans for Studio 217. (I tend to get side tracked easily and quite often) I have decided to no longer photograph weddings. I have two in the books this year and I am very excited to capture all of those precious moments for those two couples, their friends, and their families, but I have decided to take a break from that area of photography. I plan to replace that time with photographing more high school seniors. I had a lot of fun with my class of 2015 and look forward to meeting many more new faces this summer and fall! I am continuing to photograph maternity sessions, newborns, children, and families….don’t you worry about that!
I have recently added a ton more to my newborn prop inventory, which I am excited to start using! New textures, blankets, headbands, and hats. I am introducing some new background options for child, senior, and family sessions and will be excited to finally photograph seniors indoors instead of strictly outdoors. I have chosen new products to offer and have switched to a different professional lab that reflects my personal style and the brand that Studio 217 carries. I am also transitioning to “In Person Ordering,” which there are many bonuses to.
I will now be able to guide you step by step when deciding what to print, what to hang on what wall, who to give what gift print to, and etc. etc. I feel so horrible when months go by and orders have not been placed. I hear it time and time again, “I just love them all and couldn’t make a decision.” Now I can give advice on what will look best and even show you EXACTLY what your prints will look like on your wall. You will be able to see and feel all of the products that you used to just listen to me talk about. I truly believe this is a HUGE step in right direction. Again, I am very excited to be implementing this at Studio 217, a little timid, but oh so excited! So, promise you’ll help me along the way? (Insert “of course Jolene!”) Ok. Awesome!
So, if you are still reading along, great! Means I didn’t bore you and you didn’t get lost with my ramblings….kudos to you! I think you are pretty awesome!
As always, please keep checking back to my NEW and so amazing website. I will be tweaking it a lot, adding many blog posts of all sessions.
